Join JHSM and Rachel Yoskowitz, MPH as we explore the subject of modern-day refugees, gleaning wisdom from previous refugee resettlement efforts, considering the community's responsibility to receive and resettle individuals admitted to the United States, and understanding how Metro Detroit plays a part in this larger process.
Rachel Yoskowitz is the former director of Resettlement (now Immigration and Citizenship Services) within Jewish Family Service (JFS) of Metro Detroit. In this position, Yoskowitz helped resettle Russian and Kosovar refugees. Additionally, she served as the founding director of Project Chessed and advisor to the Chaldean American Association of Health Professionals (CAAHP), assisting refugees in both capacities. Yoskowitz received her nursing degree from Sinai Hospital of Baltimore School of Nursing, her bachelor of science degree from Johns Hopkins University, and her masters from the University of Texas School of Public Health.
